A media Project promoting awareness, education, and collaboration to address texas water resource challenges, together.

Launching in February 2025!

Dive into Texas water!

Everyone will have the opportunity to engage with  leaders navigating water issues from across the state and the nation.

Join us to share fresh ideas, real solutions, and the power of partnership & collaboration — all in a WaterChat that’s as enlightening as it is fun!

Introducing the TExas Waterchat Podcast & Media Project

Texas is the perfect place to start a national conversation to address the water challenges facing us all.  It is an ecosystem where water policy, environmental ingenuity, and cultural heritage collide in dramatic fashion.

Texas WaterChat gives everyone a backstage pass to the most fascinating conversations about what makes Texas tick, from its iconic rivers to the delicate balancing act of keeping clean water flowing to all communities and all sectors.

We’re digging into the stories, voices, and innovations that bring these issues to life. We want to connect the dots: between the farmers in West Texas adapting to drought, the engineers dreaming up high-tech aquifer recharge systems, and the grassroots advocates fighting for clean water access in underserved communities.

And hey, this isn’t a doom-and-gloom series. It’s about possibility. Every conversation, every episode, every post will highlight creative solutions and collaborations that are shaping Texas' future—plus some good-natured debates and “only-in-Texas” moments that make it all worth tuning into.

So whether you’re a curious listener, a lifelong Texan, or just someone who’s fascinated by how water runs the world, this project promises one thing:

you’ll come away informed, inspired, and ready to join the conversation.

Let’s make waves together. 🌊

About THE Texas Water Chat Podcast

Our Goals

To foster public awareness, collaboration, and actionable solutions for Texas’ environmental and water challenges through engaging, accessible, and research-backed storytelling.

  • Education: Provide reliable, nuanced information about Texas’ environmental and water challenges.
  • Engagement: Encourage listeners to participate in conservation efforts, advocacy, and local policy-making.
  • Collaboration: Build a network of stakeholders from government, industry, academia, and grassroots movements.
  • Action: Inspire meaningful change by connecting audiences with resources, tools, and communities.

Texas WaterChat Podcast

A flagship series with a storytelling approach that features:

  • Interviews: With water experts, policymakers, scientists, ranchers, and community leaders.
  • Narrative Episodes: Covering key topics like groundwater rights, water scarcity, flooding, and ecological restoration (e.g., “A Day in the Life of the Edwards Aquifer”).
  • Field trips: We'll visit places like ranches & farms practicing regenerative agriculture, water treatment facilities, locations where groundwater recharge is being successful, examples of residential adaptations to support water conservation and recharge, and more!
  • Panel Discussions: Debates or roundtable talks between diverse stakeholders (e.g., industry vs. conservationists).
  • Listener Interaction: Q&A episodes responding to audience questions.
  • Formats - both include fun stuff:
    • Short-Form (15–20 min): Insights on hot topics.
    • Long-Form (40–60 min): Deep dives into complex issues, divided into layperson first half and professional depth in the second.

Be heard! Get involved! You can even help cover startup costs until participant underwriting and grant funding come through!
